Query finished popup

Postby amosmoss » Thu Dec 27, 2012 5:49 am

Hi,

I think a nice thing to do is to display a taskbar popup whenever a query finished (with the script name perhaps) if the DBeaver is not the active window at the time. This way I can run a large query, without the need to check the DBeaver from time to time to see if it ended already.

Thanks, Amos.

Hi,

Yep, it's a good idea! I'll try to add this feature (it'll be configurable) in the next version.

Thanks!

Hello Serge,

This feature serves me greatly. So thanks again.

Is there any chance to make it disappear after a few seconds (like Microsoft outlook mail notification)?

Amos.

I'm afraid it is not possible.
Java API for Tray items is very limited to meet multiplatform requirements. So the only way to hide this popup is to click on it.
BTW we are going to improve it (bring to top SQL editor which triggered this event and add context menu with additional functions).

I have another improvement that could be nice. The popup would also indicate a script that finished running, not just a single sql statment.

What do you think?

Yep, I think it's a good idea. And there is a good chance that it will be in the next version.

Thanks!
