[DONE] Inline editing for simple data fields

Postby lorenzo-s » Sun Aug 26, 2012 2:33 pm

Is it possible to have inline editing for data cells as numbers and varchars?

Sure.
DBeaver already has inline edit support for most of datatypes (including numbers and strings). Just press Enter when you are positioned on certain cell in resultset.

Just noticed that there is no information about this feature in DBeaver help. We'll fix it)

Great. There's the possibility to switch this behaviour, maybe from preferences? I means, Enter key opens popup window and double-click starts inline editing.

For sure it is possible. Probably we'll add new option in preferences in next version.

By default we use keyboard to activate inline editor because usually you have to use keyboard anyway (to enter new value :) ). Also there are a few shortcuts (like TAB and CTRL+TAB) to navigate betwee inline editors.
But if you have new value in clipboard you may just press CTRL+V (or click on Paste from context menu) on certain cell without activation of editor at all.

ResultSet editor was improved in 1.6.3.
Besides other changes you may click middle button (wheel) to activate inline editor.
