plug-in installation for eclipse

Postby stellak » Mon Mar 11, 2013 1:30 pm

Hello,

I would like to check dbeaver database manager plugin for eclipse.
What are the prerequisites? As I have understood gef and draw2d plug-ins are required ,but I need compatible versions for indigo 3.7.2 that I could not find.

I have downloaded org.jkiss.dbeaver.runtime_2.0.7.jar for eclipse and it`s 11K. Is it sounds ok? (not too small ??)

I will appriciate if you could send me detailed instrcutions for installtion software & process.

Thank you in advance,

Stella.

DBeaver can be installed using standard Eclipse installation process.
You shouldn't directly download jar files from update site.

You may use Eclipse Update (main menu Help -> Install New Software, paste URL http://dbeaver.jkiss.org/update/2.0/ into "Work with" field and proceed with installation)
Or use Eclipse Marketplace ( http://marketplace.eclipse.org/node/507775/ ) - check for "Install" button.

Thank you , but I can not do that . The direct connection to the internet is not allowed in my company . All the 3rd parties are downloaded and located on internal servers.

In addition , I would likt to understand what else do I need (graphical plugins and etc...????). I need versions compatable with eclipse 3.7.2.

Ok, I see.

Then you may use dropins folder to install plugins.
Download this archive: http://dbeaver.jkiss.org/files/dbeaver-2.1.0-.zip and extract content of dbeaver/plugins directory in your Eclipse dropins directory.
Then just restart Eclipse. That's it.

Also you may download DBeaver plugins directly from here: http://dbeaver.jkiss.org/update/2.0/plugins/
Note that 2.1.0 provides new plugins org.jkiss.dbeaver.resources.*
You may download them into dropins too to simplify JDBC drivers' configuration.
