Hi!

Generally such problem may ocur when something was externally changed in DBeaver installation. Can't say how it can happen, but probably by some manual Eclipse installation or DBeaver reinstallation without removing previous version.

Basic solution of such problem is to completely reinstall DBeaver (database configurations won't be lost). If you use portable version of DBeaver (from zip archive) then you need to completely remove previous version before extracting files.

If problem won't be fixed by reinstall then could you send me (by email or attach in forum message) complete log file?

Thanks for report!

I should have mentioned this in my OP: I've already tried reinstalling, including a complete removal that is also supposed to remove the config files. There must be some kind of bad interaction with my system because the problem also occurs on a newly extracted zip archive. And actually, the log in my OP was the complete log (unless there's another log somewhere else that I don't know about). This is part of the reason I've had trouble resolving this, the log doesn't give you much to go on. Maybe the log level can be bumped up?

Wow. I have no idea how it happened, but somehow I got switched back to OpenJDK. Once I ran sudo update-alternatives --config java and switched to Sun, DBeaver fired up just fine. *sighs* I could have sworn this was one of the first things I checked. Thanks for your help.

It might be worth doing some poking around at some point to see why the OpenJDK is problematic (or at least it was on Ubuntu 12.04 x86) if you don't already know, and resolving it if possible. Though as a Sun JDK user, that's not a high priority for me.

Works fine for me on Ubuntu 12.04 x86-64 with dbeaver-1.6.0-linux.gtk.x86_64.zip and OpenJDK x86-64 1.60_24.

Is it possible that it's an issue with your OpenJDK installation?

ubuntu@wubuntu:~/dbeaver$ java -version
java version "1.6.0_24"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.11.3) (6b24-1.11.3-1ubuntu0.12.04.1)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.0-b12, mixed mode)
