Is it possible to save layout of ERD diagram?
Save in/load from external file, or somehow internally between sessions and closing the tab with the diagram?

You can create a new diagram (from context menu on Digrams fodler or thru main menu File->New) and prod there tables you need.
DBeaver remembers tables layout only for custom diagrams.
